Five days before election day, we'll be hosting our own very special State of the Startup: Politics. More and more, technology is playing a big role in politics. Technology has started revolutions and turned the tide in presidential elections. The driving force behind these changes are new innovative startups looking to disrupt the world of politics as we know it.

Alexis Ohanian, Founder of Reddit and Author of "Make Something People Love"
Alexis has been active in the fight against SOPA and PIPA, becoming one of the public faces of the movement and ultimately thwarting both bills in a display of citizen power never before seen by lawmakers. Alexis has spoken at TED, Clinton Global Initiative, and even keynoted an entrepreneurship summit in Cairo organized by the U.S. State Department just months after the Egyptian Revolution.
Reshma Saujani, Founder of Girls Who Code and Deputy Advocate for Special Initiatives at the New York City Office of Public Advocate
Reshma's role as Deputy Advocate is to promote civic engagement and government accountability while spearheading public projects that focus on citywide job and economic growth, small businesses, public empowerment, environment-friendly infrastructures, and social/technology innovations that vastly improve the quality of life for all New Yorkers. She was names one of City Hall's "40 under 40" for being a young influential member of New York City politics.
