Transform the library world in 54 hours.

Join us for Startup Weekend Toronto EDU: Library Edition, March 28 - 30 at Mozilla Toronto.

What is Startup Weekend?

Startup Weekend is a global grassroots movement of active and empowered entrepreneurs who are learning the basics of founding startups and launching successful ventures. It is the largest community of passionate entrepreneurs with over 400 past events in 100 countries around the world in 2011.

The non-profit organization is headquartered in Seattle, Washington but Startup Weekend organizers and facilitators can be found in over 200 cities around the world. From Mongolia to South Africa to London to Brazil, people around the globe are coming together for weekend-long workshops to pitch ideas, form teams, and start companies.

Spend the Weekend Solving Issues Facing the World’s Libraries

For the first time ever, we’re bringing together library professionals, developers, designers, and entrepreneurs to create dynamic solutions to issues facing libraries today.

All Startup Weekend events follow the same basic model: anyone is welcome to pitch their startup idea and receive feedback from their peers. Teams vote on and form organically around the most popular ideas, and then it’s a 54 hour frenzy of business modeling, design, coding, and market validation. The weekend culminates with presentations in front of local entrepreneurial leaders, and of course, prizes!

You can change the library world in one weekend, in one room, with one idea. What are you waiting for? Join us and change the library world for the better.

Space is limited! To get updates about the event, sign up via email, and follow us on Facebook and Twitter (#SWTOLib).

What's included in the event price?

We are aiming to contain costs as much as we can, to ensure the event is accessible to as many people as possible. The $100 event price covers all of your meals, snacks, and drinks for the weekend, from Friday night dinner through to Sunday afternoon lunch. It also covers ancillary costs for supplies, swag bags, prizes, and other incidentals. The price is subsidized by our amazing sponsors, who are providing incredible support for our event!

We are aiming to create a revenue-neutral event but if there is any surplus funds, those monies are funnelled back into Startup Weekend Global, a 501c(3) Non-Profit, to support other startup events, globally.

Refund Policy:  No refunds will be granted within 7 days of the event if food and drink have already been ordered. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
