Google Technology User Groups and Startup Weekend are joining forces to help developers and entrepreneurs become more successful!

We know that during a Startup Weekend event there isn't a lot of time to learn new things. You come in with the tools you have in your belt, and you do the best you can with those. But sometimes those tools aren't enough, which is why we're running this pre-Startup Weekend technical bootcamp

Date: Friday, November 15, 2013

Time: 9:30am - 1:00pm

Location: Media Learning Center at California State University Monterey Bay - See map at http://about.csumb.edu/sites/default/files/53/attachments/files/mlc_0.pdf.   Parking costs $1.00 per hour.

Limited seating in computer lab to 30 participants.  Based on last year's event, we are expecting a waiting list. Please do not register unless you are sure you can attend.  If you are unable to attend please cancel your registration as soon as possible.

Description:   This event is geared to people that do not have a computer science background who would like to learn the basics of developing an App.  The workshop is taught by Professor YoungJoon Byun who teaches computer science at California State University Monterey Bay.

Startup Weekend

Startup Weekend is a global grassroots movement of active and empowered entrepreneurs who are learning the basics of founding startups and launching successful ventures. It is the largest community of passionate entrepreneurs with over a thousand past events in 110+ countries around the world.

The non-profit organization is located in Seattle, Washington but Startup Weekend organizers and facilitators can be found in cities around the world. From Mongolia to South Africa to London to Brazil, people around the globe are coming together for weekend long workshops to pitch ideas, form teams, and start companies.

All Startup Weekend events follow the same basic model: anyone is welcome to pitch their startup idea and receive feedback from their peers. Teams organically form around the top ideas (as determined by popular vote) and then it’s a 54 hour frenzy of business model creation, coding, designing, and market validation. The weekends culminate with presentations in front of local entrepreneurial leaders with another opportunity for critical feedback.
