Startup Grind Sydney is set to open the year by hosting co-founder and CEO of Atlassian, Scott Farquhar, on Tuesday February 26th.
Just 32 years of age, Scott Farquhar along with fellow co-founder Mike Cannon-Brookes are one of Australia’s greatest success stories in the technology world. After meeting Cannon-Brookes whilst studying at UNSW, they founded Atlassian (atlassian.com) in 2002, a company that sells innovative and award-winning enterprise software for software developers.
Some of Atlassian’s clients include some of the world’s largest organisations, including Microsoft, Apple, BMW, NASA, and Harvard to name a few.
Farquhar was awarded the ‘Australian IT Professional of the Year in 2004’ and was youngest person ever to be awarded the ‘Australian Entrepreneur of the Year’ by Ernst & Young alongside Cannon-Brookes.
Farquhar graduated from the University of New South Wales in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science (Business Information Technology) and is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organisation and the Australian School of Business Alumni Leaders Network.
