Event Details

Tom Dawkins (StartSomeGood) and Alan Crabbe (Pozible)

Startup Grind Sydney presents Australian crowdfunding pioneers Tom Dawkins, founder of StartSomeGood, and co-founder of Pozible, Alan Crabbe, on Thursday 20th June at our new home at Fishburners Sydney.

Crowdfunding is hardly a new phenomenon with the world's largest funding platform Kickstarter based in New York City, largely responsible for the paradigm shift. Every week, tens of thousands of people pledge money to "creative-entrepreneur types" looking to fulfil projects in the areas of fashion, publishing, film, the arts, as well as social causes.

Tom Dawkins founded the StartSomeGood crowdfunding platform to offer support and financial backing for social entrepreneurs looking to make a difference in the world. Tom is a social 'serial' entrepreneur, activist and dreamer whom previously founded Vibewire and set up Australia's first co-working space.

Alan Crabbe is the co-Founder of Pozible, Australia's largest crowdfunding platform for creatives looking for financial support from passionate strangers. Alan, 31, co-founded Pozible in 2010 alongside Rick Chen, 29, and has since handled over $5 million in pledges for projects and seen double-digit growth month over month in the last 18 months.

Join us for the next Startup Grind Sydney edition where we learn about all things crowdfunding in Australia and the men behind it - They'll be sure to make us think twice!
NOTE: Startup Grind Sydney's May event featuring Tom Dawkins of StartSomeGood at Vodafone HQ has been cancelled and postponed to June. Those with tickets please note your tickets will be valid for the June 'crowdfunding event'.
