Scott Sambucci, SalesQualia

Scott Sambucci is a Silicon Valley veteran, spending more than 15 years building sales processes, developing new markets, and creating technology products for two startups and two publicly traded companies. Throughout his career, Scott has sold educational products, software solutions, data services, and consulting engagements to:

  • Top universities, including Duke University, Columbia University, and the University of Pennsylvania;
  • Financial firms, including Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Morgan Stanley, and Freddie Mac;
  • United States government agencies, including the Federal Housing Financing Agency, the Department of Treasury, and the Federal Reserve Bank.
He regularly teaches university courses as an adjunct professor in Economics, Finance, Entrepreneurship, and Strategic Management and recently received a “Faculty Member of Excellence” award in 2012. Scott has been interviewed on CNBC, NPR, and The Financial Times. Scott lives in Northern California with his wife and son, and is a three-time Ironman triathlete.

John Stayton, Director of Startup Grind North Bay

After fifteen years in high technology industrial marketing, John desired to leverage his business background by developing a profession that would serve the environment and society. In 2000, he cofounded the world’s first graduate program in sustainable business that, in 2002, became known as the GreenMBA. The GreenMBA at Dominican University of California is a rigorous two-year program that transforms students’ abilities to advance environmental and social initiatives in any type of organization. John was GreenMBA Program Director for eight years. In 2010, John cofounded the Venture Greenhouse and now serves as its Director. He is also a sustainable enterprise consultant and a doctoral candidate at Grenoble Ecole de Management.

 John received his MBA in International Business from Dominican in 1995. John teaches the capstone Strategic Enterprise Planning course in the GreenMBA program, and has taught Organizational Behavior, Internet Marketing, Eco-Commerce Models, Systems Thinking and Sustainable Local Enterprises.
