Welcome to Startup Grind Lubumbashi
After CapeTown and Johanesburg in Africa, Startup Grind arrives at Lubumbashi in D.R.Congo. Three words can define Startup Grind: educate, connect and inspire. Startup Grind is series of monthly events with experienced entrepreneurs who share their experiences: failures and successes.Lubumbashi became famous in 2010 when its football team “Mazembe” arrived finalist at FIFA World Club Cup Final. But Lubumbashi is mainly known for his copper and several international mining companies such as MMG, “Société pour le Traitement de Teril de Lubumbashi” (STL), Tenke Fungurume Mining (Freeport MacMoran), Phelps Dodges, etc. established offices there. That’s why it’s called the Copper’s capital of D.R.Congo. (Picture of a famed copper’s plant) Lubumbashi is as vibrant as its young population. It’s also a hub and an open city. It is located 1 hour drive from the borders of Zambia and South Africa can be reached from there by car. The city is under construction and a lot remains to be done. Many pioneers have shown the way and a generation of young and dynamic entrepreneurs is rising. With the characteristics mentioned, Lubumbashi therefore makes favorable the emergence of successful entrepreneurs. Startup Grind Lubumbashi invites you to join us at our inaugural event on Friday, August 04th, at “Halle de l’Etoile” : 63, Chaussée L. D. Kabila, Lubumbashi, Katanga.
