This seminar will cover the key legal issues any first-time entrepreneur should understand before starting a technology-based business. Areas of focus include understanding key formation and management issues, how to minimize legal risk, and how to deal with investors, and get funding from various sources. Just bring yourself. All experience levels and background welcome.

At the end of this seminar, you will:

  • Understand the key distinctions between different legal entities
  • Understand the key issues among co-founders, such as ownership, management, and control
  • Understand the basics of different rounds of financing
  • Recognize and know how to mitigate potential IP risks
  • Improve your funding strategies, documentation, and negotiation techniques
  • Connect to potential investors and navigate securities law
