Stand Up! For the Bay

Coos Bay Surfriders are hosting their third annual STAND UP! FOR THE BAY on National Estuaries Day. This is a community paddle event in support of the Coos Bay and other coastal waters. This event is designed to celebrate our amazing estuary and to raise funds for the continued monitoring of Coos Bay waters via the Blue Water Task Force.
Pre-registration cost is $25 for adults and free for children under 12 (kids shirts sold seperately). Event-day registration will be $30. Cost includes the event t-shirt which we will give you the day of the event, food, the paddle joust, and festivities.
The Paddle (9 to 11:30am):
Kayaks, Canoes, SUPs and paddle boards are all welcome to participate. The 1.5 hour paddle route is appropriate for all skill levels. The route begins at 9am. Come 30 minutes early to sign in and get your boat in the water. Life Jackets required. Rentals and information can be found at Waxer's Surf Shop.
The Luau (11:30-2:30):
Pepper Pappy BBQ and Fisherman's Market are teaming up to provide pulled pork sandwiches, sides, and clam chowder for all registered participants. There will be live music (11:30am to 1pm), paddle jousting (1-2pm), and a raffle (2pm). Non-registered adults can buy meal tickets for $10. Coos Bay Surfriders will provide free hotdogs for kids under 12. Barefoot wine and 7 Devils Brewing Co. will be selling beverages seperately.
Educational activities (11:30-2:30):
This year we are teaming up with South Slough Estuarine Research Reserve, in celebration of National Estuaries Day. They will be providing kids activities and estuary education. All are welcome, no registration neccissary.
