When & Where
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital ®
The goal of this event is to raise $10,000.00 or more to benefit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital has been helping kids with terminal illnesses for many years and searching for cures so that children in the future won't have to suffer. Some of us struggle with weight, others with money; these children struggle merely to live while all their loved ones can do is watch helplessly. In 1962, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital opened their doors with a mission to fight and find cures for Juvenile Terminal Illness. Since St. Jude's inception, they have treated thousands of children in the US and around the world at no cost to the patients or their families. St. Jude's average daily operating cost is around 1.7 million dollars and about 75% of St. Jude's operating budget comes from donors like us who also believe that "No child should die in the dawn of life". When St. Jude's began its mission in 1962, the cancer survival rate for their patients was merely 20%. Today, a much larger percentage of St. Jude's patients are treated successfully, dramatically increasing the survival rate to 80%! They have been able to give a majority of children diagnosed with terminal illness an opportunity to see another day and a new lease on life - a life in which becoming an adult with a family of their own is more of a reality and not just a dream.
