The North Texas SQL Server User Group is excited to announce details about SQLSaturday #63 Pre-Conference sessions.

Attendees may attend any of the 3 sessions (subject to room capacity). The event fee of $75.00 includes a light breakfast, lunch and beverages. The fee of $5.12 is charged by EventBrite for managing this process. Sorry, no refunds are allowed.

Topic 1:

Troubleshooting & Performance Tuning Microsoft SQL Server

Abstract: Kevin Kline will teach this full day seminar advancing from introductory to advanced techniques for troubleshooting (including detecting, diagnosing, and resolving problems) and performance tuning (discovering sub-optimal performance and making SQL Server faster) using SQL Server's built-in Dynamic Management Views (DMVs), Performance Monitor, Profiler, Wait Stats, and Extended Events. Bring your laptop with SQL Server 2008 R2 and AdventureWorks R2 to work through the labs as Kevin demonstrates various techniques. (SQL Server 2005 is also OK, but you will not be able to demo some features specific to SQL Server 2008 R2).

 

Topic 2:

Learn Reporting Services In a Day!

Abstract: SQL Server MVP, Jessica M. Moss, will present on SQL Server Reporting Services 2008 R2. Learn about report development, administration, and best practices through this demo-intensive and interactive course.

 

Topic 3:

High Performance ETL

Abstract: Randy Dyess will present on High Performance ETL. This session will cover concepts relating to improving your performance during high volume or large-scale ETL processes.
