The fifth evening Surrey SQL Server community event, hosted in Farnham Surrey, and supported by Coeo.
This event will cover contemporary technology topics for those using SQL Server in 2012, as well as providing a chance to make and meet with SQL Server community friends.
The event will have three main sessions, and a SQL Server news and sponsor session at the beginning of the evening:
Master Data Services (8.00-9.00pm)
Allan Mitchell MVP, Integration Director – Copper Blue Consulting
Allan is one of the leading SQL Server BI consultants in the world having originally earned his MVP for his work in the fields of DTS and SSIS. However, Allan continues to evangelise as well as deploy Microsoft’s current generation of data management services including Master Data Services, Data Quality Services, StreamInsight, as well as SSIS. We look forward to welcoming him to Surrey and hearing more about Master Data Services.
Preparing for SQL Server 2012 today (7.15-8.00pm)
This session will share some of the lessons that have already been learnt by pre-release adopters of SQL Server 2012. We will focus on considerations and experiences rather than product marketing material and hold a SQL Server 2012 Q&A session.
Plan Guides - A newcomer's first session (6.30-6.50pm)
Richard Douglas - Quest Software
Richard will cover this performance tuning feature in SQL Server which allows the execution plan a query uses to be determined manually without needing to change the query's code.
There will be the usual short break mid-evening with a buffet provided.
