The seventh evening SQL Server community event, hosted at Regus, 400 Thames Valley Park Drive, Reading, RG6 1PT.
The evening will cover as always contemporary technology topics for those using SQL Server in 2012, as well as providing a chance to make and meet with the SQL Server community.
There will be three main sessions, and a SQL Server news session at the beginning of the evening:
Future of Microsoft BI From the End-User’s Perspective (8.00-9.00pm)
Chris Webb - Principal Consultant - Crossjoin Consulting
This session will look at Microsoft’s future business intelligence strategy, how the end-user platform is migrating from web apps to Microsoft Office, and some of the cool new features coming in Office 2013 and Office 365.
What is Big Data? (7.10-8.00pm)
Keith Burns – Microsoft
Keith will share with us an overview of just what Big Data is and how Microsoft’s products and technology roadmap will bring this topic nearer to us all in the future.
Moving XML from the cloud to a table - A newcomer's first session (6.30-6.50pm)
Mike Knee - Database Administrator - Attenda
In his first ever session, Mike will talk about how and why he used SQL Server Integration Services to move XML data from a source in the cloud to a table in SQL Server.
