It’s easy to tell when Spring arrives in Sicily: almond trees are blooming; blood oranges and baby artichokes are stacked high at neighborhood markets; and local cooks are preparing for St. Joseph’s Day, an annual feast and seasonal celebration unlike any other. Discover Southern Italy’s deliciously unique springtime dishes with cookbook author Dana Jacobi, and let her introduce you to regional specialties like a hearty pesto made with cherry tomatoes and almonds; an Arab-influenced side dish (that also doubles as a pasta topping); and ricotta-filled cream puffs for dessert. Beginners welcome!
On the Menu: Maccù (Sicilian Soup with Beans, Fennel, and Chard); Cauliflower Arraminata; Pesto Trapanese; ’Sfinci (Sicilian-Style Cream Puffs).
Instructor: Dana Jacobi, Culinary Instructor, Food Writer, Recipe Developer, and Award-Winning Cookbook Author.
