Spring Gospel Choir Concert
Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 7:30 PM (CDT)
The School of Music invites you to an evening of worship with the Gospel Choir. This concert will take place in Anderson Chapel on North Park University's campus.
With over 150 members, the this group provides a rich, multicultural worship experience to all. Gospel Choir performances often feel more like an enthusiastic worship service than a concert, inviting participation from the audience. They routinely draw sell-out crowds for performances both on- and off-campus. Conducted by Stephen Kelly and Helen Hudgens, this ensemble is open to all singers — music students and otherwise — and performs contemporary sacred music from the spiritual and gospel genres.
Located in Chicago, North Park University is a Christian comprehensive university that serves nearly 3,200 undergraduate and graduate students from around the country and the world. Within a diverse, close-knit, urban community, North Park offers a values-based education to students through 40 undergraduate majors and an adult degree-completion program, as well as graduate and continuing education in business, nonprofit management, nursing, education, music, and theology. By integrating faith with learning — as it has done since its founding in 1891 by the Evangelical Covenant Church — North Park University continues to focus on the important task of preparing students for lives of significance and service.
