What is the long term impact of an increasingly polarized civic environment on public policy and the health of a city? The speaker will utilize Kansas City case studies and examples to illustrate the growing concern about the toxic nature of a collision of values in planning, politics and public policy.
About the Speaker:
Vicki Noteis is an award winning architect and urban planner, and is president of Collins Noteis & Associates in Kansas City. She has also served as City Manager and Director of Planning for the City of Kansas City, MO, and teaches at the University of Missouri Kansas City. Some of her recently completed work includes the Vine Street District Economic Development for KCMO, the PIEA Plan for Armour Blvd., the South St. Joseph Redevelopment Plan, and the South Loop Link Plan for decking over the south loop of I-70 in downtown KC.
