Oh Happy Day Craft Night with Andy Kane // DIY Screenprinting
Learn the basics of DIY screenprinting from Andy Kane of Sparka Screenprinting! You'll come away understanding the basics of single color screen-printing, which includes knowing how to prep a screen, burn it at home, and then pull your own images. We'll talk about the basics of image and text design, press set-up and registration, printing techniques, ink and mesh selection, and lots of other tricks of the trade.
We'll have several screens set up and ready to print, with different images for you to choose from. We'll be printing on both paper and fabric, and have images of different sizes for you to use.
Several of the images will be perfect for kid's teeshirts!
Your ticket price includes:
- all the materials you will need for the 2-hour workshop, which will include a teeshirt and a tote bag for you to print on.
- light refreshments
- a goodie bag filled with small gifts from some great companies
None... but we do encourage you to bring extra fabric, sweatshirts, teeshirts, baby onesies, kid's shirts, pillowcases, aprons, or anything else that you might be interested in printing on. There will be six different screenprinting stations set up for you to experiment with, and you are welcome to make as many things as you can during the workshop!
Pro tip: Several of the images are going to be perfectly sized for kid's teeshirts, so you may want to bring enough of those to cover all baby shower gifts you are responsible for the foreseeable future!
Dates and Times:
Choose from six different two hour sessions on March 15-16, 2014.
Oh Happy Day Studio, in the Mission District of San Francisco, at 21st St and Mission. The location is easily accessible by public transit (24th St BART).
