Speek Out with Ethan Austin: Raising Money for Your Startup
Wednesday, August 21, 2013 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM (EDT)
As a startup, unless you decide to bootstrap it, you’ll need to raise money at some point (or points). For our next Speek Out with the Young Entrepreneur Council, we’ll talk about fundraising with Ethan Austin, who has not only raised $2.5 million in venture capital for his own company, but has helped facilitate over $49 million in crowdfunding through his platform, GiveForward.
Ethan is the co-founder of GiveForward, the world's leading medical crowdfunding platform. Since 2008 GiveForward has empowered thousands of people to raise more than $49 million for their loved ones’ cancer treatments, surgeries and expensive medicines. Ethan has been named one of CNN's ten generation next entrepreneurs and is a member of the Young Entrepreneurs Council.
Ethan will share what he has learned from the unique vantage point of having raised venture funds and facilitated crowdfunding campaigns. He will also discuss his three Ps of raising money: personalization (always get warm intros), promotion (communicate traction) and persistence (follow up without being annoying).
Speek’s VP of Business Development, Konrad Waliszewski, will host the teleconferenced fireside chat on Speek.com. Audience Q&A will be a major portion of the call so please add it to your calendars and join us.
We’ll send all registered participants the Speek link for the call. When it’s time for the call, just click the link, put in your phone number and the conference will call you. You can also join via VoIP through the browser if on Chrome.
Speek and The YEC
Speek is easy, free and visual conference calling. Use an easy-to-remember personal link (i.e., speek.com/YourName) instead of a phone number and PIN for conference calls. Nothing to download and no elevator music. See who's joined, who's talking, use call controls and more. Reserve your Speek link at www.speek.com.
The Young Entrepreneur Council (YEC) is an invite-only organization comprised of the world’s most promising young entrepreneurs.
