Directly from the hills of the Gruyère district of Switzerland, the storied Choeur des Armaillis de la Gruyère visits Washington for a rare U.S. appearance. Literally translated “the choir of the herdsmen,” these men spend most of the year tending to the cows that produce the region’s world-famous cheese. Founded almost 60 years ago, the choir has won numerous awards at international choral festivals. They join the 18th Street Singers for a special concert in which both groups perform music from their native lands. Produced in coordination with the Embassy of Switzerland in Washington, D.C.
