This seminar will provide an opportunity to hear from leading experts in planning and managing major national and international sporting events including the Super Bowl, Special Olympics, Marine Corps Marathon, Presidential Inaugurations, World Cup Soccer Games and the U.S. Open. Participants will walk away with different perspectives, lessons learned and advice that will assist their localities with their planning and preparation efforts in areas such as intelligence sharing, mass casualty, crowd control, transportation and overall emergency management.
Program: Guest speakers will present special event planning topics that address planning considerations and lessons learned for major events. This institutional knowledge may be applied to the 2015 World Police and Fire Games as well as other special events in the National Capital Region. Participants will have an opportunity to interact with the guest speakers during a moderated panel discussion following the presentations.

Target Audience: Representatives from emergency management, public safety, communications, information technology, transportation, public health, healthcare, public works and other local, state, federal government and partner organizations with a role in planning and preparing for the upcoming 2015 World Police and Fire Games.
Registration begins at 8:00am. The program will begin at 9:00am.
