When & Where
Paul Taylor Dance Foundation
Paul Taylor helped establish modern dance as one of the foremost American art forms through his virtuosic and lyrical movement invention, his intuitive musicality, his portrayals of humanity and his early explorations of pedestrian movement. Under Mr. Taylor's leadership, the 16-member Paul Taylor Dance Company, celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, has performed in more than 540 cities in 67 countries. The Company holds its self-produced New York season at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center. Mr. Taylor has choreographed 140 works to date. The six-member company, Taylor 2, was established to bring dance to venues with less production capability and to provide outreach and arts education activities across the world. The Paul Taylor Dance Foundation comprises both companies, The Taylor Archives, and The Taylor School.
