Wednesday 11/14/12: Rob Morris, Co-Founder, Love146
In 2002, Rob Morris, a co-founder Love146, traveled to Southeast Asia on an exploratory trip to determine how he could serve in the fight against child sex trafficking. In one experience, he and another founder of Love146 were taken undercover with investigators to a brothel where they witnessed children being sold for sex.
The story of what followed served as the inspiration to co-found Love146, a New Haven-based non-profit tasked with the ‘abolition of child trafficking and exploitation. Nothing less.’
Named an “Agent of Change” by GQ Magazine, Love146 continues to be recognized as a leader in the fight to end modern day slavery. For more information, visit love146.org
Thursday 11/15/12: Miles Lasater, Co-Founder, Higher One
Miles founded Higher One as a junior in college with two friends back in early 2000. The main idea was to expand the purchasing power of their college ID card so it could be accepted everywhere - not just on campus. They decided to create a product based on combining a college ID card with a Debit MasterCard, helping students get their refunds from their school faster, offer more choices in how to receive their money, and finally save time and money for colleges and universities.
12 years later, Higher One now serves more than half of the higher education market, providing its services to over 1,250 campuses and 10.5 million students at distinguished public and private institutions nationwide.
