He was most recently the Head of Latin America Risk Management for ING Investment Management, part of ING Group, one the largest financial conglomerates in Europe, and on that role had responsibilities over the risk function in the seven countries where the company operated (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay), overseeing over $80 billion in assets under management.

He started his career at the bank ING Barings in Brazil and in 2003 was invited to move to USA to join the Regional Risk Management area, to oversee the risk areas in Canada and Latin America. Simone SantosSimone Santos is the President and Founder of OpenPath Solutions, LLC. Her corporate experience working both in Brazil and the United States allowed her to recognize a gap in the cultural differences between the two countries and decided to start her own company with the goal of helping organizations from around the world to be successful in Brazil.

Simone’s love for international business started before she even realized it. She grew up teaching English in her family owned language school. Growing up in Brasilia, the capital of Brazil, she had the opportunity to work with various businesses, government employees, and diplomats. Her studies of English and French transitioned her to work at the Embassy of Ivory Coast and the Embassy of Myanmar. Simone moved into the corporate world in Brazil by being the first Brazilian hired by Canadian-owned Bell Canada and TIW (Telesystem International Wireless) to establish their office in Brasilia where they set up the first privatized cellular phone company in the region.

Simone moved to the United States in 1998 where she graduated from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia. Following graduation, she got her feet wet with Corporate America with a stop at TNT Latin America before joining the marketing team at Cartoon Network. There, she spearheaded the effort to start a multi-cultural marketing program. With her love of news, she took advantage of an opportunity to move to CNN where she has worked in Public Relations, Human Resources, Digital Media, and Marketing.
