Leif Johansson is the Chairman of the Board of Ericsson. He assumed this post in 2011, after having served as President & CEO of the Volvo Group for over a decade.
Based on his 30 years in executive positions within Swedish business, Mr. Johansson has extensive experience of international competition and its demands on leadership. He currently serves on numerous boards, including SCA, the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise and The Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce in New York. Mr. Johansson is also the Chairman of AstraZeneca PLC, the European Round Table of Industrialists and the International Advisory Board of the Nobel Foundation.
Mr. Johansson has a Master of Science in Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, and also holds honorary Doctorates at Blekinge Institute of Technology and University of Gothenburg. He was awarded the large gold medal of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences in 2011, and received the Lucia Trade Award in 2006.
