A simple prayer: "Lord, even as we enjoy the Super Bowl football game, help us be mindful of those who are without a bowl of soup to eat" is inspiring a youth-led movement to help hungry and hurting people around the world. Why not use Super Bowl weekend, a time when people come together for football and fun, to also unify the nation for a higher good: collecting dollars and canned food for the needy.
The youth of East County Shared Ministry liked the idea so much they decided to do just that this Super Bowl Sunday, February 3, at 10 a.m. Food and money will be collected for the food banks of Antioch and Pittsburg. Join us at East County Shared Ministry, 200 E. Leland Rd (between Railroad & Harbor), Pittsburg.
Please bring money or non-perishable food to donate while entering or exiting worship. Then while you're enjoying the Super Bowl parties this afternoon, that good feeling of helping those in need will warm the spirit regardless of the game's outcome (Go Niners!).
Join us at East County Shared Ministry, 200 E. Leland Rd (between Railroad & Harbor), Pittsburg. No matter who you are or where you are on life’s journey, everyone is welcome here, East County’s progressive, inclusive place of worship.
