5150 Music is proud to present a Rock University Workshop; Modern Songwriting.
This workshop is designed to help you expand your skills as a songwriter both musically and lyrically. The seminar will cover the history of rock music songwriting sharing the styles of notable artists like Lennon/McCartney, Bob Dylan, Pete Townshend, Bruce Springsteen, Prince and many more to compare to modern day songwriters. We will open you up to exploring new techniques and approaches to songwriting and grow an understanding of what makes a good song become a great song.
In addition, we are providing a workshop for you to work with other songwriters in creating new music. You will get the chance to develop your skills in collaboration work, gain exposure to a variety of points of view, and receive informative critiques on your songwriting.
This seminar is perfect for songwriters of every genre because it gives you exposure to a variety of people, sounds and songs.
What you need to bring:
- An example or two of songs you have already written (either recorded or to perform live).
- At least three copies of lyric sheets for the song(s).
- Your instrument (please limit to acoustic guitar or keyboard). You do not need to play guitar or keyboard to participate.
- A note pad and pen
That's it. Come on and join in this four-hour workshop and expand your songwriting skills farther than you imagined.
