Voted "Best Comedian" in both the SF Bay Guardian and SF Weekly, Alicia Dattner coaches people in standup comedy, comic monologue, storytelling, and solo performance.
She has performed standup comedy for over a dozen years, from New York to London to San Francisco to Bombay to Hollywood, sharing the stage with such notables as Maria Bamford, Bill Santiago, Arj Barker, & W. Kamau Bell. She's performed at clubs like Cobb's Comedy Club, The Punch Line, The Improv, and Gotham Comedy Club and now plays mostly theaters.
Her solo shows, The Oy of Sex and Eat, Pray Laugh! toured the world and won a slew of awards, including "Best Storyteller" in the Off-Broadway NY United Solo Festival and "Best of the Fringe" (twice) in the SF Fringe Fest.
Her newest solo show, recently played a 3-month run, 3 nights a week at The Marsh in San Francisco. She's also the creator of The Spiritual Comedy Festival, an online event bringing spiritual teachers and comedians together to share what's funny and beautiful about being human, featuring luminaries like Wavy Gravy, Moshe Waldoks, Nadia Bolz-Weber, and Craig Shoemaker.
Alicia is also a trained life coach, through the Transformational Course Leader Training/The Circling Institute, and is also a graduate of The Arete Experience, Authentic World/The Authentic Woman Experience courses, and The Spirit of Life Institute. She is a certified laughter yoga leader and has been a member of the professional Association for Applied and Therapeutic Humor and the Creativity Coaching Association. She incorporates into her work Circling, Family Constellations, Sedona Method, EFT, guided drum journeys, and Diamond Heart Approach-inspired work.
