Event Details

Save the date for the next #SolarChat, April 24, when we will be discussing How Solar is Changing Utility Customer Expectations.

#SolarChat founder and EcoOutfitters.net president Raina Russo (@EcoOutfitters) will be joined by Mike Taylor, Research Director at Solar Electric Power Association (@SolarMikeTaylor) and Dr. Julie M. Albright, from USC Dornsife  (@drjuliea), to discuss the solar opportunities and challenges that arise around electric utility customers and services. Find out and weigh in on ways to effectively communicate solar and utilities' shared values while collaborating on ideas and tools needed help foster solar understanding and adoption

Mike Taylor is SEPA’s Director of Research and leads the department’s efforts to provide data and analysis on utilities and solar market development to SEPA staff, members and external stakeholders. Prior to joining SEPA in 2006, Mike spent seven years with the Minnesota Department of Commerce State Energy Office specializing in renewable energy policy and program development, including energy efficiency, solar, wind, biomass, biofuels, climate change, and utility regulation. While working for the energy office, he received over $1 million in utility funding to develop and operate Minnesota’s first statewide PV incentive program.

Dr. Julie Albright has become a trusted expert commentator in the media for stories related to the social aspects of the Internet, including social networking sites like Facebook, Craigslist and Myspace. An expert on culture and communication, she has been asked for commentary on topics related to popular culture, the Internet, and plastic surgery. Her latest work focuses on the social and behavioral aspects of emerging energy technologies.
