Event Details

Save the date: #SolarChat on 4/11/12 from 2:00-3:00 p.m., when we'll be sharing our solar stories. How were you initially inspired by solar; what made you make the final leap (be it installing it and/or working in the industry), how does solar energy continue to inspire you and to what lengths; and how are/will you "pass along" your love for solar?

Moderator Raina Brett Russo, president and co-founder of EcoOutfitters.net, will be joined by Tom Kimbis (@tomkimbis), vice president of strategy & external affairs and general counsel for the Solar Energy Industries Assocation (SEIA) and Kendra Hubbard, a solar marketing and social media specialist (@Kendra_Hubbard).

Tom leads the development of long-term policies promoting solar energy and oversees expansion of SEIA’s market research efforts. He has been working in renewable energy since 2000. Kendra's background is in sales and marketing for the building materials industries, specifically renewable energy. Her passion for helping create a better and cleaner future for our children through discovering ways to end our reliance on fossil fuels, coupled with her social media prowess, has made her a leading advocate for solar energy.

#SolarChat welcomes solar and renewable industry experts and consumers who are "solar curious" to discuss relevant issues like solar energy, solar PV, solar hot water, solar pool heating, and related subjects.

#SolarChat provides an opportunity to connect homeowners and qualified installation professionals, to demonstrate the affordability and environmental impact of all types of solar solutions, and to educate consumers on this emerging field. "We believe in the power of solar to change the world," says Raina Russo, moderator of #SolarChat and CEO/co-founder of EcoOutfitters.net. "We hope #SolarChat will further advance EcoOutfitters' goal of making solar a reality for every American home and business."

For those new to Twitter, a hashtag (#) is an easy way to find and follow people who are tweeting about a certain topic. #SolarChat has a simple mission: Curious consumers, energy experts, and installation professionals can tune into Twitter at the designated chat time to share advice and resources, weigh in on discussion topics, pose questions or concerns, and work together to advance solar awareness.

#SolarChat is held on the second and fourth Wednesday of every month from 2:00-3:00 p.m. EST.
