Save the date to join @EcoOutfitters, General Motors, and VoteSolar for the next #SolarChat, to be held on Twitter on October 24, from 2-3:00 p.m. EST.

Named as one of The Solar Energy Industry Association's Top 20 Commercial Users of Solar in the US, General Motors is making strides in its efforts to dispel myths and show consumers that solar is a great investment. Join us to Twitter-chat with Rob Threlkeld (@RobThrelkeld), GM's Manager of Renewable Energy, about their motivation, goals, and advice for other companies eager to reap the cost-savings and environmental benefits of solar.

Joining from The Vote Solar Initiative (@VoteSolar) will be Rosalind Jackson, director of communications and development. Rosalind manages media, member and donor relations for Vote Solar. Prior to joining Vote Solar, she spent five years directing and implementing PR campaigns for all manner of clean energy and sustainable business innovators. She has degrees in Environmental Science and Communications from UC Berkeley.

Also joining us from The Solar Energy Industry Association (SEIA) is Senior Research Manager, Justin Baca (@SunBaca) Justin assists in the development and implementation of SEIA's research agenda in coordination with the Government Affairs department, Communications department and Market Research Committee. Since joining SEIA in July 2008, he has lead the production of SEIA's annual report on the state of the solar industry, the U.S. Solar Industry Year in Review, managed several major policy analysis projects.

#SolarChat welcomes solar and renewable industry experts and consumers who are "solar curious" to discuss relevant issues like solar energy, solar PV, solar hot water, solar pool heating, and related subjects. The Twitter chat provides an opportunity to connect homeowners and qualified installation professionals, to demonstrate the affordability and environmental impact of all types of solar solutions, and to educate consumers on this emerging field. "We believe in the power of solar to change the world," says Raina Russo, co-founder and president of EcoOutfitters.net and founder of #SolarChat (@EcoOutfitters). "We hope #SolarChat will further advance EcoOutfitters' goal of making solar a reality for every American home and business."

For those new to Twitter, a hashtag (#) is an easy way to find and follow people who are tweeting about a certain topic. #SolarChat has a simple mission: Curious consumers, energy experts, and installation professionals can tune into Twitter at the designated chat time to share advice and resources, weigh in on discussion topics, pose questions or concerns, and work together to advance solar awareness.

#SolarChat is held on the second and fourth Wednesday of every month from 2:00-3:00 p.m. EST.
