Event Details

Learn to use the Lilypad for making wearable circuits!  Lilypad is a
hand-washable electronic circuit based on the versatile Arduino platform.
Circuit connections are sewn (!) using electrically conductive
thread.  This allows lights, sensors, push buttons, etc. to be
embedded in (or on) clothing or fabric.
Supplies for this class include one Lilypad beginner's kit, which has
many components to get you started. The kit is offered at a
significant discount through this class, and contains a Lilypad Simple
board (the 'brain' of the system), a button, slide switch, white and
tri-color LEDs, light and temperature sensors, buzzer and vibration
boards, a removable USB connector, battery, and two bobbins of
conductive thread!
No sewing or circuit experience necessary.  If you have a sewing
machine, bring it!  Also, if you have a specific idea you'd like to
try, please email the event organizers so we can (hopefully!) help you
out. We request that children under 15 be accompanied by an adult
(besides, it's a great parent-child activity!).
Cost: $50 FamiLab members / $70 non-members
Bring your own kit: Free for FamiLab members / $20 non-members
