The Yard, INDMUSIC, and TubeFilter are presenting the Social Media in Music panel on Wednesday, May 9th at 7:00 p.m. The panel is part of a series of professional development events held weekly at The Yard. This panel brings together music industry professionals to discuss how artists and labels successfully leverage social media. The event is free and open to the public.
The panel will feature:
Tatiana Simonian – Head of Music for Twitter. Formerly of Disney Music Group, Simonian's previous digital marketing clients also included the Smashing Pumpkins, Placebo and Virgin EMI among others. A journalist of fifteen years, Simonian was associate editor of Anthem Magazine and also wrote for the LA Times, Weekly and Rolling Stone. She is also a musician.
Benjamin Jacobs – Label manager of Fool’s Gold Records. Works with artists such as A-Trak, Danny Brown, and Flosstradamus.
Jonathan Pardo – Free Association Management. Manager of Caveman (Fat Possum Records) and Boyce Avenue (3 Peace Records), one of the first independent bands to break out on the Internet.
Brandon Martinez – CEO and co-founder of INDMUSIC, a YouTube Content Network that helps independent artists and labels monetize their video content, including Mad Decent Records, Mr. Muthafuckin’ eXquire, Brendan Benson, and more.
