We've changed venues for this month. We will be meeting at the Brown Bag Deli & Cafe next to Town Center Park in Suwanee. Buying breakfast isn't required, but they have a great selection of breakfast sandwiches and breads, as well and a variety of coffees and other drinks.
Social Media Media Breakfast Atlantais about business owners and others getting together to talk about effectively using social media and technology to promote small business. We talk about the latest tactics, ranging from Pinterest, FaceBook and Google+ to strategies like blogging and email newsletters. Mixed in the how-tos, what-tos and don't-dos, one of the hidden opportunities is to get feedback from professionals in others fields about how YOU could more effectively engage THEM. Our "Case Study Days" are some of the ones that get the most comments from attendees.
We're laid back, open and looking for people that enjoy sharing their experiences and learning about what is working for others.
smbATL was founded in June of 2009 by Lane Bailey and Ken Cook after Lane was introduced to it by a mutual acquaintance from the Midwest. Social Media Breakfast was founded by Bryan Person who helps (and allows) it to spread to other areas across the nation and across the world.
Our inaugural meeting was on July 23rd, 2009 at the Duluth Diner in Duluth (North Metro Atlanta) Georgia with 20 people in attendance.
We hold events in multiple areas of Atlanta including Suwanee/Gwinnett and Kennesaw/Cobb. Events are held each month, and each month features a different topic, each revolving around the business applications of social media and its associated technologies. It is also a great opportunity to network with other 'tech forward' business owners and entrepreneurs.
The events are currently held on the 4th Thursday in Gwinnett/Suwanee. We gather from about 9:00am until about 9:20 or so. After introductions, the program generally runs about 30-40 minutes. There is a little networking afterwards, and by 10:30am we can be heading back to work.
