ABOUT OUR PANELISTS:
Ashley Dingess is the social media manager at Power 106 (KPWR-FM) Los Angeles and a freelance digital brand consultant. She has been addicted to social media and blogging since childhood, making her own online newsletter and sharing her online diary via Melodramatic (come on, we all remember it). Getting her start in radio right after college, Ashley has been the content curator and social media maven for brands like KIIS FM, ALT 987fm, 104.3 MYfm and more. She has also helped small businesses and up and coming artists reach their online goals. She is a music-loving, selfie-taking, go-getter who sometimes likes to serenade people while holding her golden microphone. She is an optimist and is extremely passionate about social media and entertainment, which shows by how much she jumps and yells when she talks about it.
Jacqueline Fitzgerald started her career in London at SSC&B: Lintas Worldwide Advertising, then became a journalist for a start-up magazine publisher. After returning to the U.S., she joined the Chicago Tribune as an editor and writer. She stayed at the Tribune for 13 years, working in the business, lifestyle and entertainment sections. During that time, she was a finalist for a Peter Lisagor exemplary journalism award, served on the Society of Professional Journalists board of directors and was selected to participate in a fiction-writing residency at Ragdale.
Realizing that life is short and winters are long, she jumped at the chance to be a corporate communications/PR manager at Roll Global in sunny Los Angeles. While there, she specialized in writing, social-media strategy, media relations and brand building. In 2009, the Roll Global folks won PR team of the year from PRWeek magazine. Jacqueline founded Fitzgerald Communications and FilmNoirBlonde.com, a site that covers classic and contemporary movies as well as art, fashion and LA lifestyle, in 2011. She has studied film at the University of London and the University of Chicago (Graham School). Jacqueline contributes to various entertainment sites and has given talks on the power of the femme fatale.
David Perez is a Golden Mike Award-winning online content producer at KFI AM-640, the most listened to news/talk radio station in the U.S. He is also the associate producer of “Wake Up Call” with Gary Hoffmann.
David fell into radio and digital brand building in 2005 while studying to become an audio engineer. He took an internship at 93.1 Jack FM (KCBS) and wanted to learn how to do “everything” at the station (and the free concerts didn’t hurt either). When the opportunity to manage the station’s website arose, David quickly volunteered.
David later went back to school to study journalism and public relations, so he decided to move into talk radio. He kept a student mentality and managed to move from programming, to the newsroom, and finally to digital.
When he’s not overworking himself, David likes to go to concerts, watch movies, play drums, and dig through vinyl records at Amoeba Music.
Alicia Yaffe launched The Spellbound Group in 2011 to execute unique campaigns for bands and brands to build sustainable markets. Alicia has strategized and executed the social media campaigns and profiles for legendary pop culture acts including The Doors, Janis Joplin, Rick James, Peter Tosh, Henry Mancini, and the Ramones, since 2010 as well as strategic marketing campaigns for Daniel Bedingfield, The School of Pop, and DeLuna Fest among others.
Alicia has been a speaker on various marketing related panels at the NARM/MusicBiz conventions for 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2013, and moderated a panel at the CMJ Music Marathon in 2009 about selling physical products in a digital world.
