Event Details

Come join members of the Utah State Women's Soccer Team and hear firsthand what it's like to be a collegiate soccer player.  Listen to players from this WAC Champion Team discuss this season and what's ahead for each of them.

We are delighted to confirm that the following players will be speaking:

  • Natalie (Nano) Norris
  • Lauren Roundy
  • Kendra Pemberton
  • Ashlyn Mulford
  • Maris Hamblin

This event is being held to benefit a humanitarian effort called Save-A-Thon For Africa, started by the nonprofit company, Bridges to America, and 12 year-old goalie, Kylie Miles.  Kylie will be going to Ghana, Africa for Christmas this year to deliver soccer balls, school supplies, and food to a few hundred poor children living in villages several hours outside the capital of Accra, Ghana.

The event is free but we hope to raise significant funds to benefit the children in these poor villages.  There will be a silent auction and on-site sales of T-shirts, care packs, and soccer balls for the children we will visit.  Please plan to bring whatever funds you can to donate and help this cause.

There will also be gourmet Swedish pancakes from Papa Rick's Sweetish Delights and a drink available for a nominal donation.

He has worked for some  of the world’s largest and finest firms in finance. Prior to his career as a financial professional Mr. Miles worked for global powerhouse, Honda Motor Co. in various capacities including new model cost control and government relations.

While staying extremely busy as an advisor Mr. Miles founded the humanitarian start-up, Bridges To America, Inc. Its mission is two-fold:
1) legally reunite financially needy African families to the USA, and;
2) empower young American women by arranging visits to Africa to provide motivation, resources, and ideas through soccer to enable African youth to solve their own problems and inspire them to take ownership of their futures. This work has primarily focused on Africa’s largest democracy, Nigeria.

The company is now actively engaged in running an ambitious effort to build a soccer and business academy in Nigeria, which includes ongoing soccer clinics called Save-A-Thon For Africa.

Personal
Mr. Miles has lived numerous years outside the USA on several expatriate assignments, and is fluent in spoken and written Japanese. His home base is Park City, Utah but travels extensively.

He is happily married with four great children, plus two sons-in-law who he appreciates. He loves running, skiing, and tennis and loves spending time with family and often includes them in his business ventures.

Mr. Miles loves to say “In Africa, it takes so little to do so much.” It is this view that provides him and his team the most extraordinary and fulfilling return on investment of time, capital, and heart.
