Description

So You Think You Can Lap Dance? is back for SEASON 2! After a wild, weird, and awesome ride (pun intended) with SEASON 1 at the acclaimed Pianofight venue in San Francisco, this season brings more delightfully bizarre pairings of modern dance, improvisation and comedy.

6 dancers. 3 judges. 1 Host.

SYTYCLD takes 6 trained professionals in the art of dance, comedy, and theater, and asks them to take the huge risk of IMPROVISING an amazing "lap" dance on brave audience volunteers. Generic "lap" dances should not be expected. Our mission is to blow open the possibilities of what a LAP DANCE can really be.

Season 2 will culminate with a championship finale on December 3rd, in which the winners for each episode go head to head (lap to lap) for a grand prize.

How does "Bacon" give a lap dance? What is "Joan of Arc's" relationship to YOUR LAP? Can "Somebodies Dad" give you a lap dance without cracking bad jokes and hurting his back? With a rotating cast of performers and the desire to bring new blood and NEW CHARACTERS in each time, no show will ever be the same.

Our amazing host Martha T. Lipton takes the stage to thread together the structure of this hilarious, wacky, and wildly creative show created by Pearl Marill/MOC- So bring your date, friend, mother (open-minded), husband, wife, lover, partner or random stranger, grab a few drinks from the PianoFight bar, and make yourself comfortable to witness or participate in the POSSIBILITIES that these ingredients can CREATE.

Welcome to PianoFight! We are a community-driven indy arts venue that takes pride in partnering with local artists to make great shows, mouth watering eats and delicious cocktails adding up to a uniquely San Francisco experience. Our two intimate theaters and cabaret stage host music, comedy, plays, dance, film screenings, drag, magic, variety shows and more, while our restaurant and bar serves up new American bites and classic cocktails. We provide space and infrastructure to hundreds of artists, who create and stage 1,500 performances for over 50,000 audience members each year.  During the day, we are the home base for the offices and classrooms of community non-profits like Tenderloin Walking Tours and Code Tenderloin which runs a job-readiness program for TL residents.
