Join Social Media Club San Francisco for a debate and discussion on the changing needs of social measurement. You'll walk away with an extensive understanding of the current social media monitoring trends, ways to enhance your current set up, how to determine your ROI, and of course, great networking!
First up, we'll have individuals responsible for creating and measuring social media campaigns discuss:
- What their current social media monitoring and measurement tactics include – including best practices, top tools and reporting metrics
- What they are measuring, why, and who cares within the organization?
- What is their #1 secret to monitoring?
- How do they comb through the vast amount of data and distill it into something meaningful?
- Examples of reports they've developed to show real business impact from social efforts.
- Where social media measurement needs to grow.
We will then invite social media measurement and analytics providers to discuss:
- How they've seen the measurement and analytics space evolve
- Tips on mining data from their solutions
- What's on the horizon for their product this year
We will then open up the conversation to audience questions at the end of the panel.

Michael Brito, SVP, Social Business Planning, Edelman Digital
Michael Brito is a senior vice president of Social Business Planning at Edelman Digital. He provides strategic counsel, guidance, and best practices to several of Edelman’s top global tech accounts and is responsible for helping transform their organizations to be more open, collaborative and socially proficient; with the end result of creating shared value with employees, partners and customers. Previously, Michael worked for major companies in Silicon Valley to include Hewlett Packard, Yahoo! and Intel Corporation working in various marketing, social media and community management roles. Michael is a business advisor for the social media marketing company Izea, brand advocate platform Fancorps, analytics startup Visibli and Lonesome George & Co.; and he is was an early investor of social business hub OneForty. He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences as well as a guest lecturer and Adjunct Professor at various universities. He proudly served eight years in the United States Marine Corps. Michael just finished writing his first book, Smart Business, Social Business: A Playbook for Social Media in Your Organizations, which was released in late July 2011 and available in book stores and Amazon.
Jenn Deering Davis, Chief Customer Officer, Union Metrics
Jenn is co-founder of Union Metrics, the company behind the social analytics applications TweetReach and Union Metrics for Tumblr. She oversees Union's communications and customer development. She holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Communication & Technology from the University of Texas at Austin, where her research focused on communicative and workplace impacts of social and mobile technologies. Jenn has more than a decade of corporate communications experience at companies like UPS, All Kinds of Minds, and zUniversity.com and has taught college communication courses at UT Austin and North Carolina State University.
Nathan is responsible for building the Salesforce.com global community and turning fans into advocates. An expert in planning, implementing and measuring engagement strategies, he leads a team responsible for monitoring and responding to over 80,000 brand mentions a month across an array of channels. With a solid background in sales and over 5 years working at Salesforce.com, Nathan continues to redefine the engagement process and success metrics while championing the use of social media within the marketing, sales, support and public relations functions. Outside of Salesforce, Nathan and his wife are professional wedding photographers and shoot around 15-20 weddings a year in Northern California.
Justin Levy, Head of Social Media, Citrix Online
Justin Levy heads up global social media for the Online Services Division of Citrix where he works on a wide range of internal and external projects, developing social media strategies and helping to scale social media across the company. Justin is the editor-in-chief of Workshifting.com, VideoConferencing.com and the GoTo blog. Prior to joining Citrix, Justin was an Executive Director at New Marketing Labs, a social media and digital communications agency. While at New Marketing Labs, Justin worked with clients ranging from Fortune 500 brands including: SAS, Sony, PepsiCo and Microsoft. Justin also served as Co-Chair and Conference Director of the Inbound Marketing Summit. Previously Justin was a Partner at Caminito Argentinean Steakhouse, ranked for three years in a row as the #1 steakhouse in Western Massachusetts. Through the use of social media marketing techniques, Justin successfully grew the steakhouse at least 20% in sales for 30+ months straight. As part of this, Justin is a co-founder of primecutsblog.com, a blog focusing on teaching readers cooking techniques, tips and recipes. Because of this success, Justin and Caminito have been featured in multiple business and marketing books as well as being profiled by some of the most successful marketing blogs and mainstream publications. Justin is a sought after public speaker on the topics of social media, marketing and technology and has been interviewed by mainstream media sources including FOX Business, Associated Press, Inc. Magazine and the Boston Globe. Justin is the author of the second edition and co-author of the third edition of the bestselling book, Facebook Marketing. Justin writes and creates media of all kind over at justinrlevy.com.
Cory is the Social Media Strategist at Heat, a San Francisco advertising agency, and has worked with brands like Bank of the West, EA Sports, the San Francisco Giants, and Wacom. He hosts a weekly podcast about social, local, and mobile marketing and advertising called The SoLoMo Show, and blogs about advertising at thefutureofads.com.
Hebert joined LEWIS Pulse and the social media team in 2009 from Morrissey & Company in Boston, where she focused on reputation management and public relations for healthcare and financial institutions. Hebert has extensive experience managing global social media campaigns for companies that include Cisco, Microsoft, SAP, McAfee and VMware. Hebert and her team have also developed social and digital campaigns for key industry events such as Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Intel Developer Forum, VMware VMworld, and McAfee FOCUS Conference. As Managing Director of the Digital Marketing team at LEWIS Pulse, Hebert's role focuses on providing clients with an integrated marketing approach encompassing social media, SEO/SEM, and digital services. Hebert was a competitive figure skater for more than 10 years, competing at the collegiate level. She holds a BS in public relations and American studies from Boston University.
