SMCKC Happy Hour with the Nelson Atkins' Young Friends of the Art!
- Community & Culture
- The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Kansas City MO
Pop Quiz: What's the one place in Kansas City where you can get kicked out for talking or using your smartphone … yet you still love going there?
(Hint: It's not the SMCKC First Friday breakfast.)
Answer: The Alamo Drafthouse, of course!
At this special SMCKC breakfast, you'll find out how one of the most exciting new additions to the local entertainment landscape ticks on social media. We'll hear from Alamo Drafthouse KC's Creative Director Ryan Davis, who is also the founder of Lost in Reviews, about how the Alamo uses social media for 99.9% of its promotions, including driving attendance at innovative special events and building an organic community.
And though that's pretty cool -- it gets even cooler...
Ryan will be interviewed by SMCKC's own Eric Melin! Aside from being KCTV5's film critic and co-founder of Scene Stealers, Eric is also the marketing/communications manager at the social media monitoring company Spiral16, and he plays a mean air guitar.
Don't miss what's sure to be a fist-pumping, social-know-how smackdown.
Note on Changes to Breakfast Service:
Instead of the usual full-scale buffet, KC Cafe Chef Celina Tio will be offering a "coffee shop"-style assortment of lighter breakfast fare such as baked goods and coffee.
