About this Session:
Twitter Best Practices and Tips. Learn how to make sense of the chaotic world that is Twitter. Get practical tips on how to use Twitter to meet your business and personal goals, what tools will make it easier to understand and how to best tap into the power of this popular, but confusing, social media channel.
This is the 4th session in our ongoing series of free social media classes, held every 2nd Wednesday of the month at the Detroit Chamber building.
Who is Paula Guthat?
Paula, a long-time strategic communicator and Twitter practitioner, will be running this class. She manages the twitter account, along with other social media responsibilities, for the University of Detroit Mercy. She also is the social media manager and strategist for Mahony Technology Solutions.
Paula's day consists of telling stories and capturing people's interest through words and images on a variety of channels - social media, graphic and digital desgn, art direction and writing/editing.
Being somewhat of a movie addict, she is the founder and co-host for the Turner Classic Movies Twitter chat #TCMParty and co-founder of the movies series @StClairCC. She also helps discover, promote and celebrate classic movie events and people in the metro Detroit area as the Detroit Classic Movie Examiner for examiner.com and blogs about old and new movies on her blog Paula's Cinema Club.

We are the people who create and consume media who have an interest in seeing the ‘media industry’ evolve for everyone’s benefit.
SMC - Detroit's primary mission is to connect the active hubs and professionals in our area while also helping promote social media literacy, technologies, and encourage ethical behavior and share best practices.
