Event Details

Focus:
Social Media is far more than an opportunity to keep tabs on friends and family; it can be a powerful tool for finding and securing employment. The face you present to the online world - your personal brand - can either be an asset or a hindrance to your career plans. Whether you work in the Social Media sphere or not, who you are and what you do online can have real “in-person” consequences. Our experts will discuss the finer points of building your personal brand and how to use social media to pave the way to a successful career (or at least how it can get your foot in the door).

Moderator:

Jeremy Caverly @JeremyCee - Membership & Community Advocate at @GeekEasyDC

Jeremy has been immersed in the online technology & communications space for more than 14 years. From building websites & collaborative technology solutions for local small businesses to managing service engagements & marketing strategies for brands as large as Nike, Whole Foods, Universal Music, PBS, Visa, PGA Tour, Chevron/Texaco & Fujitsu, Jeremy has consistently kept pace with the bleeding edge of innovation.

Currently, Jeremy works as a digital media & strategy consultant, helping organizations leverage online communities for brand development and communications. Jeremy moved to the DC-Metro area in 2005 from his hometown of Punta Gorda, FL several months after picking up the pieces left by Hurricane Charley.
