Baton Rouge , La

Louisiana is famous for its food. But much of the attention is focused on chefs from the state's major metropolitan areas. Presented by Country Roads magazine, the inaugural Best Small Town Chefs award honors the achievements of Louisiana chefs doing big things in small town settings. Whether pulling from the past or pushing the envelope, these chefs are inventing and innovating; and their food is fabulous.
Presented to culinary stars working in towns of fewer than 25,000, the 2014 Best Small Town Chefs awards go to:
• Cody and Samantha Carroll, Hot Tails, New Roads
• Jeremy Langlois, Latil's Landing Restaurant and Café Burnside, Houmas House Plantation, Darrow
• Keith and Nealy Frentz, Lola Restaurant, Covington
Come get a taste! The 2014 Best Small Town Chefs award dinner will be held Thursday, June 26 at the Louisiana Culinary Institute.

bruschetta of house focaccia, pimiento cheese, bacon marmalade, pickled red onions, and micro greens
