Small Business Expansion and Acquiring Skills in Growing Job Fields

The purpose of this conference is two-fold 1) Small business owners will learn strategies for small business innovation and growth and 2) Job seekers will learn about job training and employment opportunities in emerging job fields.

11:00AM - 1:30PM Breakout Sessions
Initiating a Business: Participants will learn about the critical success factors in starting a new business and how to gain access to capital. Participants will also learn about the resources and support services available to entrepreneurs.
Taking your Business to the Next Level: Participants will learn how to move from being a startup company to a real business by establishing processes and systems that allow them to grow their ventures. They will learn the rudiments of effective business planning as well as options for strengthening their communities while making a profit.
Growing the Workforce:The workforce training and jobs session will focus on providing jobs and educational opportunites for job seekers. This session will also provide an opportunity for recent graduates and current college students with undecided majors to engage with top companies.
During the breakout sessions, participants will have the opportunity to meet individually with the presenters and receive guidance on their particular situation.
