Mayor Eric Garcetti’s Office of Economic Development and your local Los Angeles public library are excited to host the Small Business Entrepreneurship: Doing Business in LA workshop series.

This free two hour workshop for pre-startup and small business owners will teach the basics of small business entrepreneurship and how to legally start a business in the City of Los Angeles. We will also introduce resources provided by the City of Los Angeles and regional partners that assist with the start-up of small businesses.

We will be answering questions such as:

-         What is Entrepreneurship?

-         What type of business should I start?

-         How do I get started?

This workshop will be geared towards those who:

-         Are thinking about starting a business

-         In the process of starting a new business

-         Have recently started a new business

Library parking will be limited. We recommend that you use public transportation. Please see below for transportation details.

Parking Information:

The parking lot is located on 524 South Flower Street Garage.  Parking will be at a first come first serve basis.

Parking validation is available at the Library Information Desk (first floor), patrons can obtain validation upon presenting a LAPL library card. The validation is a barcode imprinted on the parking ticket.

Validated Parking on Saturday will be at a $1.00 flat rate from 10am-5:30 pm

Non Validated Parking:

We highly suggest that you validate parking since non- validated parking is $3.50 per 10 minutes and can accrue up to $35.00 Maximum Daily . You will need a LAPL library card to validate parking.

How to get a library card

"Library Cards are free to residents of California. You must, however, have photo identification with your name and current address. Identification can be a California driver’s license or an ID card issued by the DMV. ID cards issued by the Mexican, Argentinian and Korean consulates can be used as the sole ID requirement for obtaining a library card.

If you don’t have a driver’s license or ID card, then present two of the following, one of which must be a photo ID and one of which must have your current address: Passport, school ID card, other government issued photo ID, employee ID card, printed personal check, credit card statement, rental or property tax receipt, or business mail with current postmark."

An e-card would not be accepted for parking validation.
