Green Code Provisions

Seattle Code Development

The City of Seattle is establishing policy initiatives with the hope of fulfilling the following goals:

Water Conservation

Water conversation is a priority established by the Comprehensive Plan. The goal is to reduce water consumption among all sectors of the community.

Material Conservation

Material conservation is a priority set forth by the Zero Waste Resolution, Comprehensive Plan and Climate Action Plan. The focus is to reduce waste consumption and production.

Sustainable Transportation

Sustainable transportation is a priority set by both the Climate Action Plan and Comprehensive Plan. Reducing motor vehicle emissions reduces pollution. Supporting bicycling infrastructure and alternate modes of travel keeps our communities healthy.

Healthy Landscapes

Healthy landscapes is a priority set by both the Climate Action Plan and Comprehensive Plan. Promoting sustainable management of open spaces creates healthy landscapes, which promotes a socially and economically vibrant city.

Join us for an interactive discussion with Kathleen Petrie, LEED AP, Principal at KM Petrie Consulting and a Sustainable Codes Analyst for the City of Seattle. Please click here to download a copy of the draft code concepts. Coffee and light breakfast will be provided.
