* Cane Patch Pies are pies that were made many years ago in a small community in Burgess, South Carolina, better known as the Freewoods.  Freewoods is a community that was formed by freed slaves.  Our ancestors were among the group of freed slaves that started this community.  Every recipe and how every pie is made was handed down from generation to generation.  The timing is right to start a new bakery to honor those great recipes from the past so the whole world can taste them.

Cane Patch Pies is established as a limited liability company owned by its two co-founders Tony and Jon Smalls.  The bakery will be managed and directed by Tony Smalls, a veteran baker with 18 years experience in the food service industry, and Jon Smalls, who has some experience in marketing and promotion. With Tony being a U.S. Army veteran and Jon a U.S. Marine Corp veteran, they both have the discipline, drive, and passion to make this venture a success.

Cane Patch Pies will offer not only pies but cakes, cookies and other delicious desserts.  Cane Patch Pies will also deliver desserts upon request.  The bakery will also have a selection of organic and vegan desserts for that select customer base.  The sweet potatoe pie will be the showcase product of the bakery, and due to the mild competition in the area, the sweet potatoe pie sales will be consistent.

Cane Patch Pies wants to establish a large, regular customer base and will therefore concentrate its business and marketing on local residents, which will be the dominant market.  This will establish a healthy, consistent revenue base to ensure stability of the business.  In addition we will strive to be competitive in trying to gain supermarket contracts and create a strong presence in the farmers market.

** VermiVision is committed to fulfilling the promise of vermicompost (worm compost or VC) as the essential input for sustainable agriculture. VC restores soil biodiversity and enhances soil fertility by promoting the dynamics of agro-ecology. VC similarly improves landscape management of public and private spaces such as campuses and golf courses. Its preparation remediates the organic waste stream of manure and food wastes, transforming  environmental nuisances into valuable renewable assets.

VermiVision develops collaborative partnerships with agricultural universities, food & agriculture-dedicated non-profit entities, and compatible enterprise partners. The diverse nature of the VermiVision working network assures robust expansion of commercial demand and production supported by credible research and validated field experience.

VermiVision’s mission fulfillment will be evident when high-quality vermicompost in abundant quantity has become a standard input for agriculture across diverse categories throughout North America and beyond.
