Economic Development Financing Corporation, a nonprofit community development financial institution in Mendocino. Presenting their joint fundraising campaign to build a wool mill to provide local wool for our region and revitalize a traditional industry. [Preview]

Discussion: California SB 577, the proposed Local Economies Securities Act 

Our wool entrepreneur friends to tell us more about the process that they have gone through in order to lawfully advertise their investment campaign to the public. They will be joined by a panel of other entrepreneurs to be announced soon.
Christina Oatfield will provide an update on the legislation that we are working on called the Local Economies Securities Act (California SB 577) to facilitate more local investing among people the local entrepreneurs! Christina is part of our network's leadership team and Policy Director at the Sustainable Economies Law Center

Dave Ron from Oakland-based Energy Solidarity Cooperative will share a perspective from the community-owned solar movement about the legislation and its impact on the broader local investing movement.
