Join us on a foraging tour of Belle Isle!
We'll be guided by Mackenzie Sanders of River City Wild Foods as we learn about wild, edible plants growing right here in Richmond, then enjoy refreshments made from locally foraged ingredients.
Slow Food RVa is very pleased to have Mackenzie Sanders of River City Wild Foods as our guide on this very special foraging tour of Belle Isle.
Rain or shine, we will go on a 1.5 hour guided tour with Mackenzie, then immediately following the tour we will enjoy some delicious refreshments that she has created using locally foraged ingredients. Please be aware that we will not be harvesting plants, as the James River Park System does not permit removal of vegetation from Belle Isle.
Our meeting point is the grassy clearing on Belle Isle, which you'll find immediately after crossing the pedestrian bridge. The tour departs at 3pm, so please plan on arriving just a few minutes early.
Ticket price includes both the tour and refreshments.
Children of all ages are welcome and encouraged to attend! Please note that all children under age 16 need to be accompanied by a paying adult.
