Skylight1 Android Project Group
Wednesday, September 11, 2013 from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM (PDT)
New York, NY
The Skylight1 Android Project Group: skylight1.googlecode.com (or skylight1.org)
The summer hiatus is over - it's time for a new season of your local Android study/project group and this time we'll be focusing on Google Glass project(s) but will also be open to additional Android related ideas (Glass uses Android).
If you're new to the group, we are a small group that usually meets weekly - this kickoff meeting is not indicative of our usual scheduled weekly meetings and we have yet to anounce a regular week night and location (most likely we will continue meeting at Pace University).
We have several apps on the market that we've built as a group since learning Android in 2009, they are listed on the playstore under "nycjava.net" because this group launched as part of the NYCJava meetup. https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=NYCJava.net
Why is it called "skylight1"? When we first started meeting we met at NYPC.org's office/class room space at the New Yorker Hotel and frequented the Skylight Diner on 34th and 9th. Since we host our code on googlecode, skylight was already taken so we made it "skylight1"
Come enjoy drinks at this bar (we have the second floor to ourselves) there is wifi and we'll bring a projector for demos.
Although this is primarily a developer group, artists, designers and testers are welcome to participate on projects that will get published - feel free to spread the word. And If you know a Google Glass explorer please forward this invite to them as we'll need more members that have Glass. http://skylight1.eventbrite.com
Please note there is limited space - this is by design, a small hands-on group so please RSVP only if you are serious about participating in the group and update your RSVP if you can no longer attend.
