JOIN SKY TAVERN JUNIOR SKI PROGRAM FOR THE 2012 SEASON!

First, PLEASE sign-up for Sky Tavern e-mail newsletters and/or texting on our website at www.skytavern.com to keep updated on upcoming meetings, classes, events, and GO/NO GO days!  Because of spam filters, you have to sign up for email newsletters yourself.

If you're new to the program (or just need the reminder!) please note that there are only two ways for a child to join the program.  1)  Either the child is a bus student (9 or older) and is driven to and from the hill in a school bus from a local area school OR 2) the child is a child member who is driven to and from the hill by an adult support member who is also signed up for the program and who remains on the hill while the child is there.

Adults, if you would like to be a ski or snowboard instructor, we will TEACH YOU to teach the children! Teaching is done by qualified PSIA/AASI volunteer Trainers. The more instructors we have, the smaller we can keep the classes for the students. Just sign up to be an instructor and we will keep you informed as to when classes are being held for you. If instructing is not your thing, sign up as a support member and we'll help you find a volunteer position that works for you and helps the program run smoothly.

PICTURES, PICTURES, PICTURES! Don't forget that we need a picture for each person on the registration, skiing/boarding or not. You can e-mail them (preferred!) to us at info@skytavern.com. PLEASE make sure you put the name of the person in the picture for us so we don't have to guess who is who and PLEASE note that you registered online. We can also take pictures at the office or during special events for the badges.

Fill out all the information and be specific as possible, especially on the emergency contact and medical condition portions.

All adults will be asked to sign the release of liability when badges are picked up

If you have any questions, please give us a call in the office (775) 323-5125 or e-mail us at info@skytavern.com and we'll get back to you as quickly as possible.

Sky Tavern

Sky Tavern is a 501(c)(3) non-profit ski, snowboard school and ski area located on the Mt. Rose Highway. Staffed by parents giving time, talent and a little treasure ,the program is available to ALL children, including those with special needs through our Children's Adaptive Ski Program and to those from economically disadvantaged families through our Student Scholarship Fund. Sky Tavern is more than just skiing, it is about learning to be active for life and other valuable lessons like volunteering, trust and community. It is about life.

Since 1948 thousands and thousands of kids have learned snow sports at Sky Tavern. While once a part of the City of Reno, Sky Tavern the non-profit is expanding out beyond the Junior Ski Program. With a new involvement in the community, the parents are now taking on summer sports and improving the area as well. It is an exciting time at Sky Tavern with many changes. Please join, donate or participant and help support this Nevada Tradition.
