SkeptiCamp Melbourne 2011
Saturday, October 22, 2011 from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM (AEDT)
A whole bunch of skeptical groups from around Australia are proud to present 'SkeptiCamp Melbourne 2011'!
SkeptiCamps are informal, community-organized conferences borne from the desire for people to share and learn in an open environment. SkeptiCamp is not like a regular skeptical conference. For a start, the tickets are free. But you don't get off that easily! The tickets are free (in part) because there are no speakers booked. And that's where you guys and girls come in...
All attendees at SkeptiCamp are encouraged to give a 15-20 minute presentation about a topic of their choosing, providing that it relates (somehow!) to skepticism, critical thinking or science. Everyone from casual skeptics to the experienced participate, give talks and get to know each other. SkeptiCamp is all about building a strong community and sharing ideas, and it doesn't matter who you are, everyone is welcome...unless you're Joseph Ratzinger.
SkeptiCamp is being held in the Redmond Barry building at Melbourne University on Saturday, October 22nd, and full details will be announced in the coming weeks. However, tickets are limited, so be sure to book yours straight away! Keep an eye on skepticampmelbourne.com for updates, speaker info and the occasional video of a Border Collie riding a skateboard. ;-)
See you at SkeptiCamp Melbourne 2011!!
